Joseph Sciriha

Mr. Joseph Sciriha was born in Birkirkara on the 17
March 1948. He was educated at St. Joseph Convent, Blata 1-Bajda
and the Lyceum.
Mr. Sciriha joined the Civil Service in 1966 as a
Clerk at the Public Lotto Department. In the same year he was appointed
Clerical Officer and posted at the Land Department. After being
promoted to higher grades, he continued to work in same department
with different responsibilities until the year 1999, when he moved
to the Estate Management Department.
In the year 2000 he was appointed as Assistant Director,
Estate Management (Government Property) within the Government Property
Division, Ministry for Justice and Home Affairs. Since 2000
he has been a member on the Ta' Qali National Country Park Management
Committee now incorporated into the National Parks Development and
Management Committee.
In April 2002, following consultation with the Church
Authorities, Mr. Sciriha was appointed as Director, Joint Office,
within the Government Property Division, Ministry for Justice and
Home Affairs. His main function is to administer the property
transferred to the State by virtue of an agreement entered into
between the Holy See and Malta on the 28 November 1991.
He is married to Jennifer nee' Mifsud and has a son
Andrea. The family fosters a girl named Tiffany.He is involved in
voluntary community work at Sacro Cuor Parish Church, Sliema.
