Albert V. Mamo

Mr Albert V. Mamo was born in Sliema on the 28th December
1950. He was educated at De La Salle College, Cottonera. Between
1968 and 1972 he served in the Royal Malta Artillery (Territorial
Force). In 1971 he joined the General Service in the grade of Executive
Officer.
In 1972 he was seconded on volontary basis to the
Armed Forces of Malta in the rank of Lieutenant where he later was
promoted to Captain. He returned back to the General Service in
1975 when he was appointed Administrative Officer and posted at
the Land Department.
He worked in most sections of this Department - Revenue,
Land Management, Legal Aspects and Administration. In 1990 he was
appointed Assistant Head and was involved in key roles of the Land
Department, later re-organised as the Government Property Division.
In October 1998, he was appointed Acting Director
Land and in June 2000 he was appointed Director Land.
As Director Land, Mr Mamo carries out the legal functions
of the Commissioner of Land.
He is married to Blanche nee' Busuttil and has three
children. He is involved in volontary community work at Ibragg.
